Restricted Casinos in Malaysia
According to the news agency Bernama, the authorities of Malaysia instructed mobile operators to block telephone numbers, from which messages were sent with the advertising of gambling. As a result, more than 8,000 numbers were blocked by illegal online casinos for advertising distribution.
Malaysia’s Communications Minister Datuka Jailani Jokhari explained this decision by the fact that ordinary subscribers complain about sending out spam. Malaysia’s Communications and Multimedia Commission asked operators to take action to limit such sms with spam. One of the options for reducing the number of such messages may be verification of the user when receiving a new number, for example, by fingerprint.
Recall that in February this year, almost 400 illegal gambling sites were blocked, while in the past year, about 2,200 online casinos operating on the territory of the country were closed.
