Restricted Casinos in Vietnam

Citizens of China – patrons of two gambling zones located on the border area with the Celestial Empire. Like Vietnam, the PRC forbids its residents to seek luck in the casino, and the Chinese go to a neighboring country, where they enjoy full right to it.

It is noteworthy that foreign capital was attracted to open most of the gambling enterprises. This explains their successful development in the country, traditionally far from the craving for gambling.

Recall that in November last year, the Prime Minister signed a permit for the opening of gambling halls for foreigners in 11 international airports in Vietnam. And the idea to allow local residents to visit gambling establishments has been discussed since 2015. Since then, the government has issued one gaming license for the Grand Ho Tram Strip project, located in the main southern city of Ho Chi Minh City, known as Saigon.

Reformers are confident that, given the tight anti-corruption struggle of the Chinese government, Macau, in the face of the tough anti-corruption struggle of the Chinese government, Vietnam can significantly replenish its budget through properly organized gambling. Show less
