Restricted Casinos in Kyrgyzstan

Recall, from January 1, 2012 in Kyrgyzstan the law on the prohibition of gambling in the country came into force. Also that year, the activity of sweepstakes and bookmakers hit the ban. In Kyrgyzstan, only the lotteries are legalized, but the sword of Damocles sword of selection of licenses hangs over them. To give citizens the opportunity to diversify their leisure time, and at the same time enrich the budget, the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan has initiated the organization of a gaming zone in the country near the Manas airport. According to the idea of the authors of the project, the entertainment complex should include luxury hotels, shops, several casino premises and restaurants of special meal. It was even announced that the casino will be able to accept only foreign citizens. But even such statements did not help to reach the deputies: the latter voted against the idea, and thus predetermined the fate of the project.

Since January 1, 2012 casinos in Kyrgyzstan are outlawed, and two years later bookmakers were added to them. Now, only lottery companies of all gambling have licenses, but local deputies also intend to cut off oxygen soon. Show less
