Restricted Casinos in Ecuador
During a national referendum on the 8th of May 2011 Ecuadorians were in favor of a series of reforms that included a ban of bullfighting and gambling. After the referendum they began to close gambling houses and clubs throughout the territory of Ecuador.
The operation was attended by military and police. They confiscated equipment, and sealed the premises. Until the 2nd of August 2011 they closed 200 casinos which employed about 12 000 people. But such a measure was applied only in respect of the gambling houses located outside the major hotels. Casinos, that have a valid license issued by the Ministry of tourism or the municipality and are located in five-star hotels, continue to accept hazardous visitors and to organize tournaments.
The most Famous Casino of Ecuador:
Chalet Swisse Hotel and Casino. This is a small but cozy casino. The games include are puntobanco, American roulette and blackjack. A modern casino, of course, can not do without slot machines, so this establishment has about 40 slots.
Hotel Hilton and Casino Colon Quito. This casino is much larger than Chalet Swisse. This gambling house has more than 90 slot machines and 30 table games of chance, but you can play here only from 22:00 to 4:00 am.
Hotel Casino Plaza. It is another casino of the province of Pichincha. In addition to games there are two bars in the game room. Slot fans will not be bored, because there are 176 slot machines. The customers play baccarat, blackjack, poker and roulette on 25 tables.
Hotel Hilton and Casino Colon Guayaquil. This casino is located in Guayaquil, the largest city of the Republic. The casino is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 in the morning.
